Opening the pools early provides local neighborhood activities for children, adults, and families, and provides jobs operating and maintaining the pools for teenagers and young adults who typically have difficulty in obtaining employment. The pools being opened early under this program are Willys, Wilson, Pickford, Navarre, Jamie Farr, and the Savage Splash Pad. ARRA/CSBG funding sought and approved totaled $1.8M. Operations under this funding have already begun.
